Krimigedicht: »Bad Man’s Blood« von Ray Bonneville

papa said goodbye to the glass on the prison phone
mama never cried just said boy
you a bad man’s son

under a new moon sky
my headlights cut the night
on this dark road to nowhere

it’s just a matter of time
before i have to pay the price
for what i’ve done back there

i am bound for my fate
i got bad man’s blood in my veins

i told the teller man
to put the money in the bag
my hand was shakin’ scared

the shot took me by surprise
i saw the fear in his eyes
i just left him layin’ there

i am bound for my fate
i got bad man’s blood in my veins

if i was a praying man
i would pray for a friend
to help me through this long long night

they’re coming to take me away
in the morning come daybreak
hang my head and sigh

i am bound for my fate
i got bad man’s blood in my veins

(2011)
